My grandmother's diary -- word for word, spelling for spelling, thought for thought, idea for idea -- just as she originally wrote it back in 1944 and '45. I hope you enjoy this glimpse into the life of an 11-year-old Swiss girl in Berne, Indiana.

I'm so curious about this blackman game. Do you know what it was?

It's also fun to see what she thought was important to record.

I have absolutly no idea -- I also would like to know what it was and how it was played.

The only record I could find of such a game is here:

It seems to sort of a tag kind of game, but even this website is not very specific in how it is played.
